Taekwondo training in school requires dedication and hard work and provides opportunities for personal growth and development. The journey to black belt has challenged me to push myself and achieve difficult goals. I have pushed myself to do my best in trainings and grading and managed to get three double promotions. I was also given two opportunities to represent the school in Taekwondo National School Games which I am very grateful for.
I was able to step out of my comfort zone and push myself to my full potential. Bringing back a medal for my team event this year was definitely a highlight in my whole Taekwondo journey here at Edgefield.
Taekwondo promotes physical fitness, which is essential for a healthy life. Taekwondo training develops strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Additionally, Taekwondo training promotes mental toughness, which can help in daily life.
Taekwondo requires discipline, perseverance, and focus. These qualities are essential for success in other areas of life, such as school or personal goals. Perseverance helps me to overcome obstacles and setbacks, while discipline provides the structure and consistency necessary for achieving goals.
Focus helps me to stay committed and avoid distractions. Taekwondo training also promotes important values such as respect and self-confidence through trainings and grading. These values can help in daily life by providing a framework for interacting with others and navigating difficult situations. I will continue to hold on to these values and skills throughout my life, and use them to tackle any challenges I face.
