Through my journey as a Taekwondo student, I have experienced countless benefits that have helped shape me into the person I am today.
Taekwondo has instilled in me discipline, perseverance, and self-confident. The vigorous weekly training has taught me the value of hard work and the importance of setting goals. Back in Secondary Two, I had set my mind to getting a double promotion, I made sure that every lesson, I participated actively and practiced my pattern. When it was announced that I attained a double promotion, it was the moment where I felt my hard work and effort had paid off.
Taekwondo has also improved my physical fitness, coordination and flexibility. It has taught me the importance of regular training and overall fitness, beyond the physical aspects. Taekwondo has given me a strong sense of mental fortitude and inner peace. It has taught me to stay focused and calm even in challenging situations. The road to getting this black belt has been rough. Many times, I wanted to give up when I was physically and mentally pushed. As I approach my black belt, I am grateful for the invaluable life lessons and personal growth that Taekwondo had provided me.
